Japan Display Inc (JDI) has introduced energy-saving LCD display
designed specifically for wearable devices such as smartwatch. As we know, many users are complaining smartwatch for its durability only to one or two days. JDI now try to provide solutions to these problems.
LCD or screen is one of the components in smartwatch that consume the most power. If the power consumption of the LCD screen can be pressed, then the battery life will be longer. In addition to the screen, processor and Bluetooth component on smartwatch also consume considerable power as well.

Overcome these problems, Japan Display or JDI introduce new LCD screen which consume very low power and is designed for devices smartwatch. Japanese company claimed that the besutannya screens consume only about 0.5 percent of most LCD displays used by smartwatch.
Then what is the secret of the LCD screen is made by JDI can be so saving power? Japan Display said that the LCD screen is not equipped with a backlight or backlight. Although no backlight, the screen is able to display graphics or text clearly, even in sunlight though.
The second secret is carried by the LCD screen made by JDI this is a built-in memory support contained in pixels. This memory is used to display static images without consuming much power. Two things make the power consumption dropped significantly.
As reported from Liliputing (02/20/2015), the LCD screen made by JDI is carrying measures 1.3 inches with a resolution of 320 x 300 pixels which is capable of emitting 262k colors. It is unknown where the smartwatch vendors will adopt this screen made by JDI.
