This is the first time pelastik surgery, or transplantation of skin. The man is Walter Yeo, a soldier who fought in World War I. In the war he lost because his eyelids burned.

The photo dikemukan to the public by an artist named Paddy Hartley, who wants to find descendants or relatives of Walter.
